Thank God for governors like Ron DeSantis and Glen Youngkin.  They know America is about families and at the center of many are the children.  This nation's Constitution was founded on God's Word and it has been a great defender of values and morality.  Most Americans want to live in peace and they do want to raise their children.  Today there are those that have taken over the realms of our government- from education to health and many in these departments think they know best how to form the minds of children.  

We, the people have a chance in our Primary Election (Alabama's is May 24th) to defend our precious children.  The Governor has failed to protect the children but with the power of propaganda media--you would think she was a saint.  Unfortunately, she is being led by those who want doors wide open into the minds of  your children to change them.  Power hungry globalists like George Soros, Bill Gates, Tim Cook loves the Democrat Party and their stand on liberal issues such as abortion and on the latest education plan using mental health to train up the future voters of America--their way.  That is what the Multi-tiered Systems of Support MTSS that is set up in SB171 aka Numeracy Act (and MTSS or Multi-tiered Systems of Support is NASP's concept--read this communique.)

DeSantis of Florida is shining the light on the truth of what these globalists are about--such as leaders of Disney that have come to loudly declare war on those defending children from indoctrination.  They use lies and manipulates through the media and associations like A+ that unfortunately helped push our legislators to pass this (failing to note they were same ones that pushed common core).  Please pray for wisdom as these children are our future and souls are at stake.  Many legislators have believed lies and helped pass Numeracy Act--they must come to terms that they can do nothing or be part of the defense for God watches.  It is up to each of us what happens next.  May God help us and give us wisdom --in Jesus name..Amen.

Governor Ivey's Balderdash (Lies) -Reminder for Voters--Keep Ivey and  Keep Common Core  with ADDED SEL
Excerpts:
Ivey said, “We hold God, faith and family close to our hearts as well as our conservative pro-American values. All of which I’m glad are a driving force of my administration.”
Really?
She depends on the election cycle- conservative bill such as Constitutional Carry and VCAP sat for the past three years, only to sign this year because it's election time.  Here's Examples:
  • Constitutional carry - in the legislature for a decade; passed due to maneuvering by a few shrewd lawmakers - not because Ivey called on GOP legislators to live up to their conservative claims and join  23 red states in bolstering the Second Amendment.
  •  VCAP - the ban on transgender treatments for minors. That bill was introduced and killed in committee for three years. Ivey could have used the bully pulpit to get protection for children sooner; instead, she used the bully pulpit to shame and insult the unvaccinated in 2021, because … priorities.
"When asked by 1819 News if Ivey had any regrets about this year’s legislative session, her answer was that the gambling bill did not pass.  Of all the conservative values, she picked the vice industries of casinos, lotteries and gambling (with drugs, sex trafficking and addiction to follow) to champion in Alabama.
That’s not conservative. That’s not family-centered. That’s not God-honoring. That’s not in touch with Alabama values.
Ding! Ding! Ding!  We have a winner for this latest game of political Balderdash!
If the governor’s record vs. rhetoric is fully examined by Alabama voters before they cast a ballot, then she may not win next month's primary."

 Passing SB171 Numeracy Act which sets up bureaucratic Mental Health screenings and checks and interventions through the MTSS that will be overseen by its maker NASP --should really make every parent or grand that follow Christ to say NO to Governor Ivey as it's center is Equity and look at NASP to see what they mean!

Parents Fighting Schools, Disney For Children's Innocence?  What Gives?

Here's a video of website from Alabama pro Ed A+ that was such an integral part of pushing Common Core in the state  and recently had a victory in talking current legislators with lies that SB171 Numeracy Act will solve the Math Crisis in Alabama and that Math Coaches and Mental Health Interventions are so key.  Well, follow this video for yourself and access what they really plan for the children.  It follows along with what Fox News was talking about.  Parents need to have discernment and share kindly your thoughts with those that want  your votes.

  • Online Teacher Certification Portal: Several board members inquired about the new Online Teacher Certification Portal. Dr. Mackey shared that it is still in the testing phase and the department is working out problems as they arise.
  • Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS): Dr. McCarty asked about MTSS, which is an evidence-based best practice of high-performing schools.  Dr. Mackey shared that 8 districts have been going through a 5-year MTSS pilot, as well as one school in Montgomery. Page 3: MULTI-TIERED SYSTEM OF SUPPORT. A tiered system  of supports that integrates assessment and intervention within  a school-wide, multi-level prevention system to maximize  student achievement and reduce behavioral problems. A  multi-tiered system of support promotes systems alignment to  increase efficiency and effectiveness of resources.

Page 5: Section 3. (a) Within 90 days following the  effective date of this act, the State Superintendent of  Education shall convene an Elementary Mathematics Task Force  to provide the State Superintendent of Education and the State  Board of Education with vetted and approved recommendations  for high quality, evidence-based comprehensive mathematics  curricula for core instruction and mathematics intervention  programs or curricula, or both; a state continuum of educator  development for approved professional learning focusing on  foundational mathematics content knowledge including, but not  limited to, improving number sense, spatial skills, algebraic  reasoning, and mental computations for all full support and  limited support schools; and an annual list of vetted and  approved assessment systems which are valid and reliable  mathematics screening, diagnostic, and formative assessment  systems for selection and use by local education agencies. 

Page 11:  (3) Monitor the implementation of screener  assessments, diagnostic assessments, and formative assessments  for grades K-5 to identify students in need of support for key  numeracy concepts. Implementation shall begin with the  2023-2024 school year.

Page13:
(1) Support and monitor the implementation of  comprehensive mathematics curricula for core instruction and  intervention programs or curricula, or both, approved by the  Elementary Mathematics Task Force.

Page 14:
(5) Provide a learning environment that promotes  student reasoning, student discourse, and student questioning  and critiquing the reasoning of their peers.

Page 18:
(c) Beginning with the 2023-2024 school year:  (1) Kindergarten students shall be assessed by  November using an early numeracy screener recommended by the  Elementary Mathematics Task Force to identify those students  in need of support for key numeracy concepts. A kindergarten  student identified by the screener as having a mathematics  deficiency shall be assessed using the diagnostic assessment

Page 25:
(6) Assisting teachers in using data to  differentiate mathematics instruction and to identify students  exhibiting the characteristics of dyscalculia and other  exceptionalities. 

Page 30-31 
 Implement a multi-tiered system of support,  including response to intervention, to monitor the progress of  struggling students, continually evaluate the effectiveness of  instruction, and improve instructional decisions.  Support and respond to any request of the Office  of Mathematics Improvement or the Office of School  Improvement
