Excerpts from Pastor David Perry's speech Oct. 25, 2024 in the "Defend Our Republic" Forum: I said, "Lord, why did we have so much murder, so much lawlessness?" He said, "The root is the public school system." He said, "How can you have a person's mind for 12 years and turn out a murderer?" And then he gave me a comparison because I'm a vet. After I left the University of West Alabama in 1982, I joined the military, and Uncle Sam turned me into a nuclear programmer in 12 weeks. And we can't turn out better thinkers in 12 years? We were graduating young men that would rather die than live. We graduated young girls that would rather just sell their bodies than to go to college. Failed Leadership in the School SystemThe House of Prayer was started in actually 2008. God gave me a prompting that we need to build in downtown to try to battle this poverty here in district 7, which is horrendous. Horrendous poverty... I've seen it. I've been in it. I have rescued babies that Momma was putting-- I don't know how long they've been putting them to sleep because they had ADHD. I have helped families get disability from children and they said, had demons, but they didn't. So everything is kind of crazy when you look at what's going on in our family and school system. We should not be eulogizing young men and young women before they are 24 ...I believe that the school system need to be changed. The boys alone, Dallas County has two school boards, one of the poorest counties in Alabama. We got a city school board and a county school board, doesn't make any sense. So when now I've gotten these records, I started traveling in and staying out from top to bottom to find out who's working, and what's working and what's not. But everywhere you have Christian names, and you have Christians on those school boards from North Alabama down to the South, where you have conservative school boards, those districts do not fail as bad, at all. And I wonder why that's a little, little deep. And it's because if you have the right leadership, Jesus said, when the righteous rule, the land shall flourish. But if the righteous is not ruling, and the wicked is flourishing, that means that we are letting the wrong people in. The MoneyI am a straight soul winner for Jesus. I work in the streets and this ministry is designed to save souls. And we have some good people in this church that stay in the trenches. Always trying to win souls and this because that's the only way. That if you want to really change the system is to change the heart. Now I did some research because they didn't actually take prayer out of school. Satan had a strategy. That you as a grown Christian couldn't do it. But what we did is fail in training our Christian children how to lead under peer pressure. They can start bible study groups in high school because I I got some kids that doing it. They can start prayer groups in high school. It's not illegal. They just have to be taught. So the discipleship of Jesus Christ-- and this is my battle for my ministry-- is Acts 13 by the day... We have Providence School District in Huntsville, Alabama has had to start special schools, special classes just for 80 HD autistic kids. CVS runs out of Adderall every month, right here in Selma. In Dallas County, Madison County, they running out of Adderall, because we have a crisis of young kids right now in elementary school that has these psychological disorders that I've called the money presence and it comes from a lot of pharmaceuticals that they give these kids and I believe that it needs to change. Now Alabama is behind and until we get to the point to where we're actually doing better in our school system by training our kids according to their skill set and not according to that government guideline. They need to be told how they're developed by God. God said he made us And he told us to make disciples. So every disciple was different Moses was different than David. God used them all. So we don't have to be the same for God to use us. We just have to have the same message and my message is the same. Jesus Christ is the answer right here in Selma. We Have a Crisis of Young Kids in Elementary School That Have Psychological Disorders...The Bible is the answer Nothing missing nothing broken. He's made us whole if we if we just follow what he says. There is no power stronger than Christianity. Not one. Jesus said in Luke 10 19, "I give you power over all the power in you." While we living in the feet of Jesus, they gave us such power. ... But anyway, God saved me and set me free. I wasn't supposed to be out. State of Alabama gave me two life sentences in 48 years. I stayed on parole 24 years before I got a pardon now fully pardon, now both State and Feds. Because I had 21 counts with the Feds. They gave me three years before the state of Alabama got me. But the redeeming power of Jesus Christ can change the heart because you also looking at someone that was in the nation of Islam... I was the first little black kid in the south side of promenade to hit you upside of the head. Buckwheat, and my dad said, "You can't fight." I said, "Why?" He said, "You got to represent God." I said, "God didn't represent me." Dad slapped me upside the head- "And do what I said, you know what I'm saying! But because I got picked on, I felt hatred and until Jesus changed my heart. And watch this now it was a white teacher Miss Gage, that changed that little heart. Because I hated, I hated I hate the white people for at least three four years after that. And she said come into the front of the class. And she said look how they declare she said they look funny, don't you? So yeah, they do. Excuse me, here ain't never been around a lot of white people because I went to the town of Union. All black school that was actually started in about this church. And this is the thing, a lot of people don't know is that, I tell a lot of black pastors, I said, man the private school was the black church. That's how we educated our kids. That's why I got my first lessons from is in the church. Sunday morning a b c d e f g before they gave you John 3: 16. So education has always been in God's power with us and it's time for this system here in Alabama to change, especially in District 5. We got too many high schools that are failing. And that's because you cannot do this education thing with grants and government funding. It's going to take economic empowerment throughout District 7 for these schools to come up. And for this money to flow in the right way, everybody's saying lottery, lottery ... But it ain't the answer. The answer is, get rid of these sorry teachers. And I'm calling sorry, you can quote me on that. Some of them are sorry. They don't teach. Right now we have vocation schools that are being babysitted by bus drivers because they don't have enough skilled technicians to teach these kids. So they just sit there on their phone in vocation. Well, what's wrong with District 5 having a vocational high school? You already kicked them out. Tomorrow, Do you mind if I tell your story (asks a young man at back of church). He's 16 Got a five -month -old baby That is Johnny in the city of Selma has kicked him out the school system. But he's in the GV class. I won't let him go ... I don't want to see him fail. And that's what we have to do. As Christians, that's what we have to do. As citizens of this great United States, we can't let them fall through the cracks. And it's because they care more about the paper than they do about the children. Now, we know that the international paper workers make this money. They work about a hundred days a year, make about $80 ,000 a year working a hundred days a year. An educator can't get close to that with your children. So how you gonna have qualified teachers where you have people that make paper, make more money than the ones that teach math? It doesn't make any sense to me. That's why I got in the race. Because we can change it. We really can change it. I asked the pastors in this city. We have a unit meeting, and we found out that they were sending almost $10 million a year out of this County and foreign missions. And we have the poorest county. You said money to Haiti, Nicaragua. All overseas everywhere. And you got poverty all around you that you can solve. And I asked them to do this. I want all of them to put one million in after school programs and missions. And you can change a whole lot of lives, you can win a whole lot of souls with just pinpoint power of Jesus Christ. Because when He died on that cross, that was God's answer to every problem we're facing right now. If we pray, he'll give us an answer. The Core Curriculum Is Wrong And Why Elect People That Have Not Gone To Fight For You and Blames The Parents?And if we stick together, he said, where there's unity, there's strength. And if we have one mind, one accord, we can get some things done. Please help me change this. Vote for me for District 5. If you know anybody in District 5, tell them to vote for David Perry. I got a big mouth and I fight. I do, I don't hold back. I believe that Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party, is the worst thing that ever hit our nation. And their policies are going to kill us even more. We can't stand for Satan to sit in that seat. Even Jesus said this in Revelation. He said, "I know what satan's seat he is in one of his own churches." So if Satan was sitting in the church, what do you think he's doing in the government? Jesus said that in Revelation ... I don't know where Satan seat is... but they giving out free condom, you can't pray. And what he motivated young boys in girls, and girls in boys, because you can't pray and call the Bible Scriptures. That there is a lot. What they gonna do? If they lock us up, they lock us up. But it's time to protest it, stand strong. It doesn't matter what they do to you. John the Baptist was killed on what he believed in, Paul, Peter. What are we afraid of? If they do it, if they kill us, we get promoted. That's a promotion. So let's do what we got to do to win this. Let's unify together. Support one another. We may not agree on everything, but I know this, that that Core Curriculum is wrong. I know this, that the Curriculum in Alabama is wrong. And that if we pull together right now, we can change this. We can change district 5. District 5 is one of the worst districts in Alabama. Why would you keep elected people that have not gone fight for you and blame the parents? They blame the parents and most of the parents in district 5 have an hour or two hour commute a day just to work. Most of them don't even work local. They have to drive. When the time to get home, they don't have any quality times to spend with their children. Grandmother tired, got diabetes, great dad on dialysis, brother in prison, daddy gone. We have no Boys and Girls Club come here in Selma. We have no Community Service active after school, and throughout District 5. And and we still put the same people. Should not be like this. I'm sorry. I'm just mad now. I'm serious. I'm mad, but I ain't gonna sin. But we can change this. And we just band together and believe in the power that He's my everything. Excuse me, but Jesus is everything to me. Everything to me, me and Dr. Warren Herron, who was a part of the Limestone Baptist Association, we ran that GED program for Calhoun College at Limestone Prison for six years. Satan's strategies have not changed but we must be aware of what Satan is doing. Second Corinthians 2 :11 says that we're not supposed to be ignorant of Satan's devices, Amen? Amen. But we also must have the courage and the resolve to change it. I would like to read you an excerpt from a passage of scripture in the book of Daniel. We're going to read from Daniel Chapter 1:1 It says In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim, the king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem and besieged it. The Lord gave the king of Judah into his hand, along with some of the articles of the house of God. He brought them into the land of Shinar, to the house of his god, and brought the articles into the treasury of his god. And the Babylonian king told Ashpenaz, the chief of his officials, bring in some of the sons of Israel, including some from the royal family and from the nobles. Young men without blemish, handsome in appearance, skilful in all wisdom, endowed with intelligence and discernment, and quick to understand, competent to stand in the presence of the king and able to serve in the king's palace. He also ordered Ashpenaz to teach them remember the literature and the language of the Chaldeans. Oh, this is where it's all about right here. Now we're going to to skip down. That was verse four. Let's skip down to verse six. Among them were the sons of Judah were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. The commander also gave them Babylonian names. Daniel, he named Belteshazzar, Hananiah, he named Shadrach, Azariah he called Abednego...But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile which means to dishonor himself with the king's finest food or with the wine which the king drank. He asked the commander of the officials that he might be excused that he would not defile himself. And then in verse nine, the last verse, now God granted Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the commander of the officials. So in that passage of scripture, we see the strategy of the enemy. And so I want to go back to verse one. It in the third year of the reign of Jehoachim, the king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon came to beseech it. Now, I want you to understand that as far as our education system is concerned, for over 100 years in this nation, we have been besieged by socialists, communists, and the political left. The enemy understood -have to take over the education system. But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea." Matthew 18:6 The Most Important Mountain of Influence Is Education Now, I do a teaching in my church called the Seven Mountains, that there's seven mountains of influence, or you could call them realms or spheres of influence, that the enemy has to control the world system. There's government, there's arts and entertainment, there's seven of them, but one that I think that is the most important to the enemy is education, because if you can control the education system and set the morals of these children. It doesn't matter if they end up being an attorney, a garbage man, a plumber, it doesn't matter if you set these morals in place. You see, it's the literature and the language of the Chaldeans. So we've been besieged here in our country. This is no longer traditional education. This is not. I asked a bunch of questions. They are training these kids. I wonder when I see these protests and they're burning down cities, how did this happen? And one day the Lord said, "They've been trained." But we, as parents, take these kids five days a week, nine months out of 12, Century. Drop them off to somebody that we trust that we don't even know for eight hours a day and then we come home and we wonder. Why I didn't teach you that... What do you mean you believe this now. What do you mean you feel like now you're... They told me at school if I think I'm a girl I can change it. They didn't change it-it's the literature and the language of the Chaldeans. Now let's look at verse 3... the Babylonian king told Ashpenaz as the chief of his officials bring some of the sons of Israel you know what he's saying bring me your children. I want the children bring their children to me. That's what he's after, he's always looking, the enemy is always looking into the future and let me tell you something with the same it does not matter whether red, yellow, black or white, rich or poor does not matter. He says bring me the children. That's what's going on in this nation right now. And then verse four gives us the crux of the matter. He says in verse four, he says, after three years, they'll be ready to serve the king. Enemy Wants Your Children To Serve For EvilWhen he's talking about the king, he's not talking about the king that we serve. He's not talking about the king of kings. The Lord of lords, he's talking about the king of this world. The Bible calls him the god of this world. He's the prince of the power, of the air, of this atmosphere. He says, "That's what I'm preparing them to do, to serve me. That's what's going on in our education system today. He's teaching them the literature and the language of the Chaldeans. Once this indoctrination is complete, let me show y 'all what happens after that. And verse 7, it talks about The commander of the officials gave them Babylonian names. He changed all the names. He changed Daniel's name, right? Hananiah. All of them. When we talk about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do you realize that was not their Hebrew names. They were given new names, new personalities, a new worldview. That's what's going on right now. See, that's why when they're coming home, they're saying, "Dad, I'm born, you named me Michael, but I think I'm Michelle." It's the literature and the language of the Chaldeans. I want you guys to understand what is going on, but I love verse 8. Daniel made up his mind and he would not defile himself with the bribe. Can I tell y 'all what the bribe is? I skipped over verse five. I'm coming back to it. It says, "The king assigned a daily ration of them, "of his finest food from the wine which he drank, "so they would be educated and nourished for three years." Now there's always a bribe. But Daniel said, I won't be bought. Daniel said, I won't be bought. I won't sell out. Who Are Selling Out The Children? Time For Repentance.But can I tell you, in the state of Alabama, and in our country today, there's a lot of sellouts. I'm about to close, but I want to tell you who these sellouts are. The first sellout, and I'm calling out the state of Alabama right now, is the legislature. Those that are in public office who allow this indoctrination, posing itself as education to take place. You know what they sell out for? I got to win my next election so the department of education, you know, slipped me a little bit under the table, so I make sure I win the next election while our children are going to be indoctrinated. They know what's going on, but they're sellouts. Can I tell you the next ones that are sellouts? Many of our educators are sellouts too, because they know that what's going on in our schools today is evil, but they keep their mouth shut because you know they got to get that paycheck every month. He was in the first group of black engineers, that was hired by the German scientist Wernher Von Braun in Huntsville, Alabama. So we moved from Arkansas to Alabama in 1964. From Arkansas to Alabama, you're not following me. From Arkansas to Alabama, George Wallace country in 1964. When a lot of blacks were leaving the south, my father said, "This better be further south." But growing up, one thing my parents willed to me is the faith in Jesus Christ. And because of that, God has opened my eyes to things, how we can save this nation with the best way to save this nation by embracing the liberty and justice of Frederick Douglass. What I have for you on the handout is very simple, contrasting the lives of Frederick Douglass and Karl Marx. Karl Marx is the person that those who want to make us a communist country have embraced. But when you contrast the lives of Frederick Douglass and Karl Marx, something is just gonna jump out. Both Douglass and Karl Marx were born in 1818, Karl Marx, the father of communism. Frederick Douglass, in my view, the greatest liberty messenger in this country, by far, is Frederick Douglass. Because when Douglass talked and he wrote, he had a former slave perspective. He wasn't a racist, he was a victim of racism. He wasn't a slave owner , he was a slave. But in his writings, in his speeches, he affirmed the founding father's and he affirmed the constitution and the left has no answer to that. You remember that Carl Marx was a theorist about oppression. He wrote about things he never experienced because he came from an affluent family. Frederick Douglass had real life experiences about oppression. He was a slave for the first 20 years of his life. I kind of jumped down here a little bit. Carl Marx when you read about his life. Carl Marx was not an atheist, he was a Satanist. Frederick Douglass was ordained Christian preacher. You see the contrast? Because when Douglass talked and he wrote, he had a former slave perspective. He wasn't a racist, he was a victim of racism. He wasn't a slave owner , he was a slave. But in his writings, in his  When Karl Marx passed away, Karl Marx died in abject poverty. Frederick Douglass died with $300,000 in savings. That's not bad. Well, for a guy who was a slave for the first 20 years of his life. But that's the life of Douglass. I'm gonna put me on the clock because I'm on my A -game today. (audience laughing) But what's important about Frederick Douglass is that Frederick Douglass has left us a literary legacy on that handout you have on that second page. We call that the life-empowering values of Frederick Douglass. These are things that, what I call the tenets of liberty, we have to make sure if we gonna become the state free as a nation and keep our God given rights, there's certain things we have to keep. And Douglas wrote about these things. Friendly, Douglas wrote about immigration. He wrote about parental school choice. He wrote about the US Constitution, right to keep and bear arms. He wrote about the idea of education. Douglas believed that education's your escape route from slavery. Doug was in Baltimore speaking one time at a church, packed room of pastors, and he said to them, "Pastors, save your money. Buy land. Build schools. Save your money. Buy land. Build schools." And with that as an inspiration to me, my brothers and I, we're starting a Christian Academy in the iron dirt up there in Birmingham. We'd be a STEM Academy, science, technology, engineering, and math. Because I have a 14 -year -old son. I can't sit back and wait for the public school system to come around. Because you don't get one opportunity to get the education of your child right. I can't wait 40 years. So that's something I have to do to move the needle in terms of my child's education and those of his age after him. Let me tell you some and I'm going to sit down. What I'm known for, I created based on my personal experience of a persuasive messaging model called the Frederick Douglass Republican Engagement Strategy. Let me take about three minutes to tell this story. When Karl Marx passed away, Karl Marx died in abject poverty. Frederick Douglass died K Carl grew up as a Social Democrat in Huntsville, then...So I grew up as a Social Democrat in Huntsville. Then as I became aware of the political ideologies, my faith kind of leaned more toward conservatism. But you got to understand in the black community the word conservatism is not the language of liberty, the word conservatism is the language of oppression. So you just about a year of conservatism, especially many of you are racists or you're an Uncle Tom. So I was invited to a friend's house to watch football game. 18 to 20 blacks were there. All my friends, they were black Democrats. And the subject of politics came up. When I told my friends I was a Conservative Republican, the attacks began. They called me everything but a child of God. Uncle Tom, house negro. Your parents must be disappointed in you. So I went home that night thinking mostly praying about, how can I win this narrative? How can I articulate my conservative values of being in the offense not the defense? So over a period of time, God pricked my spirit and I started reading the writings of Frederick Douglass. And so a year later, I invited those same friends of mine to my home to watch a football game. Reluctantly, they came and the subject of politics came up again. They said, "Okay, Carl, he's a conservative." K Carl-"Wait a minute. I'm more than a conservative, I'm a Frederick Douglass Republican and I embrace the life and power and values of Frederick Douglass. What I shared with them that night, all my friends started talking about how they were a Frederick Douglass Republican too. It's all about values, okay? These are values, these are not issues because values unite, issues divide. So my message to you is this. If we're serious about defending liberty, if we're serious about defending the Constitution, if we're serious about making sure we keep and maintain our God-given rights, we must make Frederick Douglass an integral part of our conversation. If not, we're going to fail. That's why we're failing now, but we have not leveraged Douglass. So thank God we have a life of Douglass and we have the liberty message of Frederick Douglass that the left has no answer for and they never will. We've got to be wise enough and astute enough to leverage what God has given us. Oh, by the way, I do want to share with you this engagement strategy that God gave me that is based on Liberty Blessings of Frederick Douglass. It's based on the outreach ministry of Jesus Christ in the first chapter of Acts. It's also based on the diversity engagement philosophy of in the Apostle Paul. When you really think about it, the Apostle Paul was a diversity engagement specialist. Paul is gonna take the message to the Gentiles, right? People of different ethnicities. So when you take Frederick Douglass, Jesus Christ, the Apostle Paul, and you fuse it together, you have a persuasive message model that Satan has no answer for, Marxists have no answer for, and it resonates with people. And I got a call from the teacher and my son said, God uses a child to show the way...Last before I sit down, I have a younger son, 14 years old, when he was about 10 years old, he studied a two -party system in his classroom. After they studied the history of both parties, the Democratic Republican Party, they went around the classroom asking all the students, are you a Democrat or you're a Republican? Susie, are you a Democrat? Johnny? So my son is named Kyle. When they asked Kyle, Kyle, are you a Democratic Republican?" Kyle said, neither, I'm a Frederick Douglass Republican. And I got a call from the teacher and my son said, Dad, I got to give a report to my class on what a Frederick Douglass Republican is. And I gave him some of these cards he took to the school and the cards got in the hands of some of the parents. Parents called me and said, hey, I did not know this. Black parents said I'm a Frederick Douglass Republican too. That's the name we got to use. Give up the word conservative. That's why we're losing. Learn how to become a better message of liberty and to engage your your grandchildren and your children. Inspire them to understand the messageof liberty by learning how we got to become better message of liberty so we can have conversations with people not confrontation. I appreciate it. They take the most federal funds. Federal funds are supposed to equalize your school in your district with districts like Mountain Brook or Homewood, but it doesn't because of the mandates. And that's what I am going to stop. Teachers and parents in local schools and districts should be making the instructional decisions and it's as simple as a teacher saying I need that book to work with this child and right now that's not what's happening. You have title one saying you have to use this book, you have to use this language, you have to say it this way, and if the child doesn't catch on, you just move on. And if you don't believe me, ask any teacher. They're frustrated, they're quitting, education is supposed to be a state function, And I realize running for Congress, I'm supposed to be talking about world peace and the economy and all that.
