These are times that try men's souls...hear for yourself.  

I think it's about definitions. What you define, and Chris and I disagree on this, what's sexually explicit and what is obscene or porn. And I think that's where this agreement comes in, definitions. And I think that's what's public would say. They're saying this is obscene and porn, not just sexually explicit, so I think that's where we have an issue.
And if I need to look then on the limited access policy, the last sentence in that policy revision, where titles that contain the very work you are looking at, "unnecessary to the work taken as a whole", will not become part of it. collection. And that's what I wanted to put that meant. What is the definition of "unnecessary to the work taken as a whole"?
In other words, who decides who makes that determination that that book taken as a whole is appropriate or not appropriate?
That's my question. Who ultimately has that divided- dividing line to make that decision. I think that's the issue here.

In Isaiah 5:8–30,The wickedness Isaiah saw led people to proclaim sinful things as good, and he said “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter”.

Apart from God we will have a skewed perspective and embrace an upside down morality and think of what is evil as actually helpful.

In Alabama we need to remember our need of God for guidance for our state -- it is in our Preamble:
"We the people of the State of Alabama, invoking the favor and guidance of Almighty God, do ordain and establish the following Constitution. "

But these days, 2Timothy 3:1-5 needs to be studied by all of us to examine ourselves...leaders and citizens for eternity's sake.

I just want to say thank you for bringing up libraries, and classroom libraries, but also school libraries of all kind, public libraries and higher education library who have been under attack in similar ways
I think your point that public education needs to be a site of socialist organizing, I think libraries really do too.
I haven’t seen that, working in libraries, but I think there’s a real opportunity here to both connect with what’s happening in public education, what’s happening in libraries, but also we need some help with libraries.
We need to be on the agenda of socialist organizing.  More here...
